Two More Ways I Would Use To Market My Film

If I had more money to market my film, I believe that I would invest in creating merchandise that would b appealing to our target audience that I have posted previously...

My first experience of editing my horror movie

In today's lesson my partner and I had been editing the footage that we had filmed over the weekend.

The editing obviously wasn't the main challenge as we had done quite a lot of practice over the last couple months, it was the filming itself. However me and my partner did foresee a problem with lighting and we did try and find a way around it but this did not work exactly how we planned. We wanted to use the early winter darkness to our advantage to make the audience get the feeling that everyone was unsafe for they wouldn't be able to see what was coming but it got dark quicker than we thought, therefore there was a lot of editing that would we needed.

And for that reason there was a lot of editing involved not only with what was visual but with audio also as we did all our filming outdoors that day. We both did end up cutting out a lot of footage as some sounds and footage was irrelevant and/or unusable. We were able to use different techniques with the sound and hopefully we will be able to improve our skills to make the film opening look as good as possible.

Breakdown sheets

Feedback

My partner and I presented an animatic film to our class, and the feedback we received was very good. However we did encountered a problem whiles presenting the video as some of the photos which were uploaded had been saved on my portable hard drive and not on the computer network other than this problem they were still able to view the film, only had a the sound and the a couple scenes missing. Our peers said our film opening was good build up to the rest of the movie. They also gave us a couple tips and idea on how we could do our flashback (doing the scene in black and white) which would makes it obvious that it had happened in the past. The only criticism we had was that we had used to many mid-shots and close-ups so they said that we would need to more of a variety of camera shots but they couldn’t tell as we did have a couple images missing. They were all agreed that we had a good location as it fits very well with our story line.

Our location

These are images of the locations my partner and I are planning if using in our film. Half of the pictures taken was taken in the day time, hopefully when we film the darkness would make a spooky atmosphere.

Eastenders

In the Eastenders episode i watched the story was mainly based on the Massod family.
I felt that I could respond emotionally toAmira's character as she seemed to be a persistent person who was trying to get her point across even though no one was listening to her. in the end she ended up with nothing in the result to trusting Yusef who not only betrade her but Zainab, I don't really think it would be hard to play a person from this nationality as this may be almost how they live at home. it almost gives us insight to how people of that culture may live but obviously this programme would add more drama to the equation.

In this episode the whole Massod family find out that Yusef had faked the DNA test and framed a gay man made Christian by making it seem like he had something to do with the wrong results. In this three shot you can see how hurt ALL the characters are and i think that it was a good technique that they used.
I personally think that the audience did feel some kind of sympathy for the family and i think that most people did want Yusef to get caught at some point for his manipulation.

I believe that the creates and everyone who did participate in the making did want their audiences to respond in a certain way as they did a lot of close ups to show the emotion on everyones faces and also had long shots so you were able to see the distance everyone kept from Yusef, makin you feel like none of them wanted anything to do with him.

I think all the characters in this story was quite believable as it really did relate to there culture and there are evil people around.

Funding opportiunities

There are many different funding opportunities out there for people who are trying to get into the filming industry. There are loans available, government grants, Tax schemes, tax shelters, UK Film Council and BFI.
The UK Film Council use to fund filming projects until early April 2001 “responsibilities for ensuring that the economic, cultural and educational aspects of film are effectively represented at home and abroad transfer to the British Film Institute (BFI) and Film London.”
Loans you can obviously get from banks etc.
You could apply for a government grants. The government would give you the money as it would benefit them in multiple ways. You can also get sponsored by different people.
You can even ask studios th fund you
